JAQ H. DALZIEL
Jaq H. Dalziel
they/them pronouns

Jaq is an Oakland based, agender artist working in choreography, performance and arts education. Their current artistic focus revolves around gender, mental health and the stigmas surrounding both subjects, especially within educational and medical settings.

After studying and performing in Florida, Alaska and Chicago, Jaq moved to Oakland and attained their MFA in Dance. Recognizing their equal passion of teaching young children the joys of learning through dance, they are currently working toward their Early Childhood Education Certification in order to teach and write dance/movement based curriculum for early childhood education centers.

In effort to bring gender inclusion to the arts and education sectors, Jaq presents gender inclusivity trainings, curriculum writing and workshops for companies, dance centers and individuals seeking to support trans and gender non-conforming youth.

Serving as a teaching artist for over 10 years, they have taught for and led dance programs at many studios, foundations and schools such as The Peter Pan Foundation, Shawl-Anderson Dance Center, Anchorage Music & Dance Academy, Garden Day Montessori, Bay Area Children’s Theatre, Emerson Elementary School, Brave Trails Camp and Performing Academy.
